DANNY SIMONY, is a versatile performer, working caberet, nightclubs, private functions, corporate events, children’s party’s, festivals and restaurants.  He has worked in front of live audiences and for television. Danny started clowning when a friend suggested that he do a street act to draw the crowd to his ice-cream stall.  At this moment Danny the Clown was born. Since then Danny has worked in several countries as an entertainer extending his act to include pantomime, juggling, riding a unicycle, magic, mime and comedy. He has a floorshow and also works as a wandering character.  Danny’s repertoire has developed over more than eighteen years and includes many different characters, from clownfish clown and king nepture to Ulysis butterfly, jester or tropical Charlie – new personas can also be developed to suit any theme.The Chaplin character grew out of an impromptu clowning act in a hotel restaurant in France and has evolved into a routine with comedy, magic and music. Danny wears the recognisable Chaplin suit, sometimes in black and white and sometimes multi-coloured.

Combining circus, theatre, dance, comedy, slampoetry, side-show and a rockin gypsy swing band, the KURANDA COOTS take audiences on a rambunctious tour of the artistic soul. Born in the forest filled Blue Mountains of NSW to now living in the rainforest covered village of Kuranda in Far North Queensland, wherever she goes‘SHELLS’ always finds herself surrounded by natural beauty. ‘Shells’ appreciation of the different landscapes and beauty of the diverse Australian bush plays a large part and is somewhat a driving force behind the creation of her music. KURANDA ACOUSTIC is a musical showcase of up-and-coming local singer/songwriters, followed by a monthly feature artist. The night provides an upclose and personal space for musicians to perform their original music in a fun, supportive environment. Each night entails performances by 3 acts (2 support & a feature). After the end of the feature performer all performers and any musicians in the audience are encouraged to join us in an all in jam. So be sure to bring an instrument. The night is an ongoing event that is held at the ‘Kuranda Amphitheatre – Understage on the second Sunday afternoon of every month. DAVY SIMONY, born and bred in Kuranda, is an original folk/rock performer, whose music can be categorized into multiple genres including: acoustic, reggae, folk, rock and indie. He generates a one-man-band sound when playing solo as he is equipped with a guitar, powerful vocals, stomp box and a tambourine. Once upon a time in a small village called Kuranda, hidden in the lush rainforest behind Cairns, Far North Queensland, there was a group of LOONY POETS who came together on a Full Moon evening to recite, entrance and entertain the Kuranda village locals. Time moves on and so did some of the poets; some to other villages, some to the great recital hall in the sky.  ZENNITH are the new future of Australian roots and Indigenous music (with a healthy dose of roots, rock, reggae, and funky hip hop) all the way from the deep scrub of Bulwai Country in Kuranda, Far North Queensland. Zennith produce high-energy rocking reggae rhythms and rhymes, which fuse hip-hop and traditional music. Ukulele duo BOSKO & HONEY from Kuranda in Queensland, Australia are famous for their “Ukulele Safari” YouTube videos, in which they travel the globe searching for uke-folk… and a smaller, friendlier world. Their Ukulele Safari adventures have taken them right around Australia, Japan, the USA and Europe. Along the way they have shared musical experiences with many thousands of ukulele players, visited dozens of uke clubs and performed at ukulele festivals in New York, Germany, Italy, the UK, Melbourne and Cairns. GUDJU GUDJU (Rainbow Serpent) is a multi cultural band from the rainforest village of Kuranda, North Queensland, Australia. They promote cultural awareness through their soulful blend of roots and reggae music and inspired performance. The use of the Djabuguay language gives special power to their message as they sing about traditional and contemporary culture. KOAHLITION Reggae Band is a multicultural band from Far North queensland. The 5/6 piece band is ever evolving, and in their music, portray the diversity of the Far North. The original music of Koahlition can be described as early roots, rock, reggae with a quirky Aussie twang and a South Pacific breeze. With influences from the Torres Strait and P.N.G, growing up in and around the Far North and a love for Reggae music the band members have come together as a “Koahlition” spreading their music of positive vibes interwoven with ideas of social conscience. The family oriented band consists of songwriter Rohan Rusch who fronts up on guitar and lead vocal, his partner Tracy adds some lush harmonies and lead vocals complemented nicely by cousin Sharmaine Drieberg-Cullen. Son Adric, formerly of Skinflint, a popular grunge band in mid 2000 in the Far North, goes back to his roots again on bass. The family are of German/ Sri Lankan and Australian heritage. Cousin Sharmaine also has roots in PNG. Hailing from Saibai Island in the Torres Strait is guitar wizard Moses Warusam, a talented and devoted lead guitarist and songwriter, playing some deadly guitar and songs to compliment the band. Kuranda local and drummer, indigenous dancer and artist Aaron Riley adds his distinctive Kuranda rock, reggae beats. They also play some great cover versions of songs by Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Toots Hibbert amongst others. Singer, songwriter and instrumentalist TRISH MOLLOY has been gracing the stages and festivals of North Queensland since early 2010 with her original swing, old time blues, deep folk and burlesque inspired music. VIKARIOUS is a live acoustic trio often accompanied by guest musicians. They play most of the popular live venues between Port Douglas & Mission Beach as well as the Tablelands area & have also recently toured in New Zealand. Their repertoire spans the ages with contemporary tunes & some old favourites too.
