Who We Are
-
Beginning as a passion project, the Kuranda Amphitheatre was a brainchild of the 70s. Dreamed up by the locals, the Amphitheatre officially opened in 1980.
We are a community-driven performing arts organisation dedicated to creating inclusive, welcoming spaces where creativity thrives.
Our venue brings together artists, audiences, volunteers, and supporters to experience live performance, collaboration, and cultural connection.
As a not-for-profit, everything we do is guided by purpose rather than profit. From live theatre and music to workshops, events, and community programs, we aim to support emerging and established artists while making the arts accessible to everyone. We believe the performing arts play a vital role in building stronger, more sustainable, more connected communities — and we work hard to ensure our space reflects that vision.
Our work is made possible through the passion of our volunteers, the generosity of donors, and the support of our wider community. Whether you’re stepping through our doors for the first time or have been part of our journey for years, you are an essential part of what makes this place special.
